Guillermo Vigueras, PhD, is a Lecturer at the Department of Computer Languages and Systems and Software Engineering at Technical University of Madrid and a researcher at the Medical Data Analysis laboratory (MEDAL) at Center for Biomedical Technology. He holds a M.Sc in Computer Science and a PhD in Computer Science. His main research interests include Machine Learning and Data Analysis applied to Biomedical informatics field. Previously, he has applied Machine Learning to different problems like automatic program optimization and load balancing in distributed systems. In the past, he worked in areas like HPC and parallel computing applied to Biomedicine, developing the first GPU-based implementation of a coupled electro-mechanical model of a human heart. He has published over 40 publications in referred journals and international conferences.
