Mario Lillo-Saavedra received the B.E. degree in electrical engineering and the M.Sc. degree from the University of Concepción, Concepción, Chile, in 1997 and 2001, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in computer sciences from the Technical University of Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 2005.

Since March 2000, he has been with the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, University of Concepción, where he is currently a Full Professor. His current research interests include image analysis, remote sensing and machine learning applied to water resource management.
