Paloma Tejera Nevado is a researcher with experience in molecular biology and biochemistry. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Medical Data Analysis Group at the Center for Biomedical Technology (CTB) of the Technical University of Madrid (UPM). Her research focuses on analysing data to detect risk factors and assess their impact on lung cancer within the EU LUCIA project. Previously, she was a postdoctoral researcher in the salivary gland tumors, genetics, and pathology group at the Sahlgrenska Center for Cancer Research (SCCR) at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, where she focused on detecting genetic fusions in salivary gland tumors. During her doctoral studies, she was involved in the EU project NMTrypI New Medicines for Infections Caused by Trypanosomatids. She obtained a Ph.D. in Natural Sciences (Dr. rer. nat) from the University of Hamburg (Germany), studying genes related to antimony resistance in Leishmania infantum. Furthermore, she holds a Master’s degree in Computational Biology from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), where her master’s thesis investigated the reliability of protein interaction models using artificial intelligence. Her strong academic background also includes a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of Granada, as well as a degree in Biochemistry from the Complutense University of Madrid and in Biology from the Autonomous University of Madrid.
